The Princess Dessert Birthday Party

Daniel & his pooch, Sky. After skijoring for a million miles, I don't blame them.

The owner of this house made this table... pretty sweet eh.

This is the best we could come up with for "make a funny picture"

and last but not least, the laaaaaaadies!

Thai night! (and the Sox game)

Thursday night was Thai night at 105. My summer roommate, Randy, came over to cook while Stef rooted for the Sox :-)

Winter Chena Canoe Trip

It is the Friday ritual of taking a canoe trip down the Chena River through Fairbanks. It is also required to bring adult beverages. This trip was the last trip of the year until Fairbanks is no longer frozen.

Ted tying the canoe to his truck.

Ted's doggies, Lucey (Black) and Ty (White) playin in the drive way. Lucey is busy chasing her tennis ball!

Ahhhh the Chena River!!

Eerie Trevor and his breath!

"Do you think the ducks forgot to migrate?" "Yea, yea, hey, were we supposed to fly south?"

The kayakers tried to build snowmen, but later proved to be useful in a snowball fight :-)

Me & Stef

Part of the crew... 5 of the 8...

Dan jumped in the Chena River upon arrival, but after his boat ambushed us with snowballs!

Post eating at Pike's, there was a snowball fight, Ashley-initiated and then a partial white-washing by Randy and later Dan (who dragged me by my pantsleg towards the river). Stef and I wrestled in the snow a bit, ahh good times with my girl :-) Nice, good, safe and fun trip.

My Winter Paradise

Fairbanks received about 7-8 inches of snow over a two day period. Now, the Skies are clear and the cold is on its way.

Here are some pictures from around campus...

I thought this was a pretty sweet picture.

This is actually pre-snow. Vahur showed me a short-cut from the Student Recreation Center that day.

Snowing on campus... there's still a little color left.

Sweating Honey

Friday night was live music galore! First dinner at Pad Thai, my favorite Thai restaurant, next a steel drum band at the Pub and then my beloved Sweating Honey (a local band to Fairbanks specifically but Alaska is their home) at the Marlin which is next to campus.

A night out with the Greek, Andreas, for some steel drums at the Pub...

I think was the coolest picture I took all night.

Then we met up with Blake, one of Cal's friends from Juneau, at the Marlin!!

And sweet sweet Grace

and one of my friends from Hawai`i who lived above me in the Palms, Charlie. Isn't she adorable?!

Soccer team Kerfaffle unites at the Marlin to hear Sweating Honey perform (they're only my most favorite local band!)

Ahh and the singer, Luke Beckel. He's an amazing electric guitarist!

and Sweating Honey :-)

A night listening to Sweating Honey is indeed a very good night.

Latest Greatest

Cal just left from visiting for 10 days. He was here for the first snowfall of the year, my second first REAL snowfall. Georgia snowing doesn't really count unless it's a blizzard I guess, but it is rarely SNOW and more often sleet or hail. While he was here, we played chess, lacrosse, soccer and painted. Well, he helped visualize. He wanted one thing, I wanted another, but neither worked. I tried something that included both and the result is below.

It's a bit planetary. Maybe it will be called 'Caletary.' ha ha

And a painting from summer which is unfinished. I haven't quite decided on the shorts.

Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland!

Today was the Rock Climbing Wall Ribbon Cutting ceremony---we FINALLY got a textured wall in the gym! We had to do re-certs so we can climb on it... new things to do to get injured you know.

Here, Chancellor Jones has cut the ribbon....

From left to right... Stan, dude who helped build the wall, Mark, my rock instructor Jeff.

My first climb on the new wall... and my re-cert :-)

Ahhhhh, color in the snow :-)

And a snowflake on my jacket!
